Style your Friendsgiving
Thanksgiving is a special holiday to share with family but lately its been a tradition to celebrate among friends which gives the name of “FRIENDSGIVING”, the perfect excuse to have great food and wine while you chat about life’s topics.
Our “Very First Friendsgiving” gathering was crafted by @winewithnat. Natalie is someone who loves to bring women together through wine and inspires us to share our stories and become stronger together. It was a wonderful night surrounded by amazing women and planned by an incredible one. You Rock!!
The excitement came when we found out West Elm Dadeland (@westelmdadeland) was hosting us, that meant freedom to pick and choose whatever we wanted in the store; Can we just say we left like “kids in a candy shop”. This amazing store has so many beautiful pieces, that it was easy to get inspired for this event. Nicole Ulloa the Assistant Manager at West Elm was an incredible person to work with, nothing was too big or small for her to execute.
In keeping with West Elm’s rustic fall décor we decided to create something earthy with a fun touch like using their Dapper Animal Plate Collection designed by Rachel Kozlowski; these plates are so cute they add that extra touch to any tablescape. We knew there will be upcoming challenges with the store's floor samples since their quantities are limited, so we kept an open mind and decided to choose a variety of styles while keeping the unity.
This tablescape inspiration started with what we knew was going to be the highlight of the table “the centerpiece”. So it was an easy decision to visit Miami Flower Market when it came to choosing the stems for this piece. We had a color in mind so choosing complementary greens for it was an easy task. When we created this piece we wanted to keep it free flowing and rustic letting the flowers shine for themselves, a good tip to create something more natural and to give it that extra touch is to add fresh fruits and veggies to your arrangements, don’t be afraid to create a piece yourself just remember less is more and it doesn’t have to be symmetrical.
This was a special contribution of talented women, from the delicious food of our lovely Mia Anzola from @cuisineandevents which we must say her food was amazing and very creative, to the selection of wines from @zonin1821 which were specially paired by wine specialist and director Alessandra Esteves from @floridawineacademy , to our special prayer from Nikki Novo @nikkinovo , and to end it all a special thank you to our photographer @nabiverushka for capturing every moment.
